Scholarship Overview

Scholarship awards will be based on need and potential academic talent in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) as conveyed through the application and supporting documents. The goal of the Oliveira Foundation is to provide scholarships to individuals pursuing STEM careers who demonstrate financial need.

Scholarships for first year students are available at the following amounts:
2-year program - $2,000
4-year program - $4,000

Scholarships apply only to tuition, room and board expenses.

Eligibility

  • Students must have applied to and plan to attend a post-secondary institution within the United States for the scholarship year they are applying for.  

  • Students must reside in the Minneapolis / St. Paul area.

  • Students must demonstrate a Family Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) of $80,000-$180,000.

Oliveira Scholarships and the North Star Promise

Minnesota’s North Star Promise provides tuition free education at Minnesota public higher education institutions and Tribal Colleges for students whose family AGI falls below $80,000. Please refer to the following information to determine which program fits your post-secondary education goals.

Applications for the 2024-25 school year will be accepted January 15, 2024-April 12, 2024.
